Microcomputer-controlled vertical friction and wear machine for evaluating the long-term wear resistance of lubricating oils and greases and the friction-and-wear behavior of metallic materials, through sliding, rolling and compound-motion mechanisms under defined contact pressures. It is supplied with three friction pairs — ball-on-disc, pin-on-disc and thrust ring — and supports additional configurations such as ball-on-three-plates, pin-on-three-columns, simulated cam, or gear pairs. It measures friction torque, calculates the coefficient, and records temperature and coefficient curves against time.
